Kung Fu - Choy Lay Fut Buk Sing

Choy Lay Fut is a popular style of Kung Fu from Southern China and has a very large following. It is a force to be reckoned with wherever Kung Fu is taught or practiced. The Buk Sing code is a branch of Choy Lay Fut developed by Master Tarm Sarm, who brought more of a Northern Shaolin influence to the style. This unique style is one of the most popular in China, S.E.Asia, Europe and the U.S.A, winning more trophies than any other style of Kung Fu world wide.

Our style is characterised by its circular, flowing movements and sure footwork. It is by nature a very fast and relentless fighting style, drawing it’s power, range and speed from the rotation of the body and flowing combination attacks.

Kung Fu has enabled me to make a commitment to change aspects of my life that I am not happy with; eg smoking. Not only am I remaining healthy, I am learning a beautiful art. My six year old son is now training in Kung Fu and he lives it. It has help several aspect of his life and my wife and I have found him to focus more, is keen to train and love training with me.

Training

The material taught in classes is very diverse and thorough, featuring training in a range of attacking moves, blocking techniques, and dynamic footwork, both offensive and defensive. A fundamental aspect of our training is the range of traditional Chinese Kung Fu “forms” (similar to “patterns” or “kata” in other arts). These are choreographed series of stylised fighting moves, fashioned into a sequence that train the student in a dynamic range of combination attacks.

Contrary to popular belief, and to what has been portrayed in the movies, the Chinese martial arts are, in reality, a non-violent practise. They are an educational system devoted to training both the mind and body. A great emphasis is placed on the development of the students’ moral character, building human qualities such as humility, integrity, self-control and tenacity.

The Buk Sing Code of Choy Lay Fut is an art for students of all ages and physical capabilities, with benefits for all who learn the system.

We invite you to visit our school to experience the art of Chinese Kung Fu.
